Cathedral Blossoms

By Lea Craigie

As the 2022 National Cherry Blossom Festival Artist, I designed “Cathedral Blossoms” as an ode to the beautiful Japanese Cherry Blossoms we enjoy each spring throughout our beloved Nation’s Capital. In addition to the blooms, I have highlighted the honey bees that play the ever-important role of pollinators and bring us the beauty we look forward to every year. The style of this piece is inspired by one of my favorite mediums to work with, stained glass. I’m honored that my design was chosen for this location across from St Matthew’s Church in vibrant SW DC.
