A New Direction

By Courtney LaPenta and Meich'e Goode

The Municipal Fish Market at the Wharf has been an iconic place of commerce and community for over 218 years! Our goal was to capture The Fish Market’s brightness and historical prominence through eye-catching colors and a sophisticated pattern of interweaving streams. The color scheme was inspired by the market’s unique red, white, and blue branding, and individual fish species were selected to represent the significance of the Potomac. We hope you are drawn into this world of beauty, sea life, and community and wonder if you will find a sense of timelessness similar to the everlasting presence of this DC Landmark.
